There are two different types of disorders, personality and psychological. Psychological disorders are behavior patterns or mental processes that cause serious personal suffering or interfere with a person’s ability to cope with everyday life. Personality disorders are patterns of inflexible traits that disrupt social life or work and may distress the affected individual (Rathus, 2010). One way to learn how to identify these disorders is through movie analysis. Movies can help the understanding of psychological and personality disorders because people can get a better understanding from a â€Å"show me, not tell me† aspect. It is hard for a student to understand what these disorders actually are unless, they are able to see them in a scenario.†¦show more content†¦Joan gets angry when Christina continues to not do it right so she yells at her to keep on going. These are examples because borderline consist of random outbursts of anger but they all have a reason for them, usually has a series of events leading up to them. In conclusion, Joan Crawford has displayed many personality disorders and borderline is only one of them. The random outbursts of anger have really affected Christina because she now has to watch her every move, just so she doesn’t get everything taken out on her. The next disorder she displays is obsessive compulsive. Obsessive compulsive is unwanted thoughts or ideas, combined with impulses that are difficult or impossible to resist (Rathus, 2010). Scientist have not been able to find a definite cause for OCD but it can be triggered by your environment, genetics, and neurobiological thinking. The biological aspect of OCD has had many causes upon someone such as, aggression and sexuality. The symptoms of OCD are excessive washing or cleaning, violent or religious thoughts, nervous rituals, and many more (Colman, 2017).
